Wings of Peace
As a tribute to the 3,251 children that lost a parent on that infamous morning,
WORLD MEMORIAL and national educators are developing a "Wings of Peace" program
that will travel in concert with the Release of Souls - healing children throughout America.

Wings of Peace First GraduateDuring the tour across the United States, school districts will be giving the opportunity to have field trips to the ROS production truck and traveling 9/11 museum. Kids will be able to follow Release of Souls “Wings of Peace” events on the Internet and watch images of the truck with a near-real-time web camera. In partnership with other institutions, the ROS production truck will effectively carry the “Wings of Peace” into international acclaim.

In the near future, the “Wings of Peace” will invite a select individuals to study tolerance at a six (6) day “teachers retreat.” On return to their school systems, these individuals will teach other instructors a concentrated program, and similarly, that knowledge and teaching method will be passed on to school children of all ages.
The program is slated to kick-off May of 2007, with an initial budget of $150,000 for equipment, handbooks, travel and teachers retreat.

The “Wings of Peace” was inspired by artist Frederick A. Tofts and Kathleen Tonnesen and as an educational program to accompany the “Release of Souls” 9/11 Memorial Concerts. This pageantry allows children to understand and heal from the 9/11 tragedy and direct their energy promoting education and peaceful solutions. Each “Wings of Peace” consist of a butterfly wing handcrafted with "Stars and Stripes.” Currently they are being worn by thousands of children from many nations; spreading peace throughout the World.

Artist Frederick A. Tofts Fred Tofts is a Silver Point pen cathedral artist and retired electronic engineer. He designed the radars for the Canadian attack submarine fleet, a far cry from becoming the “Wing Master” of a small store in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Distraught and saddened by 9/11, Mr. Tofts wished that there was some way he could reach out and help families cope, especially children. "Wings of Peace” packages are available at www.midnitefairy.ca, E-Mail and each ROS concert. 20% of sales will be donated to build the WORLD MEMORIAL Educational Museum.
