How Art Heals
Vortexaspress

Artist, professional photographer, former San Diego Paramedic, and personal friend, Chrissy Mcgirr past away December 2007. Chrissy was instrumental in creating murals for the WORLD MEMORIAL Semi Trailer which have been viewed by over one million people. In addition to the posters, she also helped us prepare and paint the 40-foot trailer. Miss McGirr also has helped with several WM 9/11 Memorial exhibits, including 2005 San Diego Fire Expo. She crafted posters for WM fund raising, foundation letters and years of contributions to Para medicine - which became the foundation of publicsafety.net She inspired many people with a new outlook on photography and art generated via the digital world. She will be truly missed…

WM President Mendler first met Chrissy at the 1984 International Olympics at Fairbanks Equestrian Ranch while volunteering as medical staff. Later, Chrissy worked nonstop - corresponding with public safety professionals from all over the United Sates to assist civic leaders in establishing a first-rate paramedic program. She helped drafted the first paramedic contract within San Diego Fire. Years after her paramedic service, Chrissy would routinely visit her troops at Engine Company 34 and helped President Mendler to master Adobe Photo Shop. Her quick wit, spontaneously colorful humor, and original creativity will never be reproduced…

ONE COLOR FOR A DAY
™
©2004-2006 WM-ROS, Dedicated to multi-cultural New Yorkers.
It is about the "Ash People" covered in the sacred dust of others, walking like zombies to the Brooklyn Bridge.  New Yorkers are multi cultural and proud of their city.  It's inspiration is that for one day on Earth, it didn't matter what your skin color was; what your race, religion or creed.
It simply mattered that you still breathed and had survived a horrific tragedy.  Just for one day, everyone was the same and everyone helped each other - Katon
